Flying Anvil Theatre is prepping for 2014 – and it’s a bit of a reboot.
We’re regrouping after being unable to negotiate a lease for the building we produced VENUS IN FUR in November. (See my latest blog post.) We learned a lot – that we can create a theare and produce a killer show in almost any space. But we still need to find a location we can work with – the right space for us that could also be made available to other performing arts groups. This is the challenge that has kept the Knoxville theatre scene small. We want to do the kind of shows that aren’t often seen here. We have the skills to make it happen and an audience hungry for ambitious theatre – now if we can just solve the problem of space!
Do you know of a possible building with high ceilings and open space? Or maybe you know someone with deep pockets who would llike to make a lasting difference in the cultural life of our area by underwriting a needed venue for theatre. Feel free to contact us with your ideas.,With your help, we can meet this challenge and create exciting, original professional theatre for Knoxville!
Flying Anvil Theatre’s mission is to present provocative theatre of the highest professional quality by providing employment to area theatre artists and staging plays that entertain, inspire, and engage the audience.
