Doug James

Doug James is a director, choreographer, and actor around Knoxville and Maryville. Currently, he serves as the theatre teacher at Austin East Performing Arts Magnet High School and as an adjunct professor in Theatre and Education at Maryville College.  You may have seen him onstage at Flying Anvil in Scrooge in Rouge or Great American Trailer Park Christmas Musical. Some of his favorite projects have included: Urinetown, Shrek, Metamorphoses, and 9 to 5 at Maryville College, Peter and the Starcatcher at Clarence Brown Theatre, Rabbit Hole and God of Carnage at Theatre Knoxville Downtown, and Tuna Christmas at Actors Theatre of Louisville.  He would like to thank the cast for being incredible, the designers and crew for being inspiring and collaborative, and his husband Daniel and three pugs- Mattie Fae, Tempe, and Noel for always getting excited when I walk through the door when I walk in late at the end of rehearsals. I love you, our family, so much!  Enjoy the show.
