Patron Experiences Manager

This position has been designed to have two branches, Audience Building and Event Sales. Operation of the theatre during the pandemic is inherently different than before it. Therefore, the Patron Experience Manager will have to adapt to changing schedules, but every effort will be made to keep the schedule consistent. Outside of the pandemic and during the run of a show, 12 scheduled hours can be expected on Thursday - Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with a flexible schedule for the remaining 8 hours of work.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment, self-manage projects, meet deadlines, and bring ideas and suggestions to the table in regards to their responsibilities

  • Knowledge of, or the willingness to learn, the latest Content Marketing strategies and social media trends

  • A desire to keep their finger on the pulse of culture in Knoxville and surrounding areas

  • Formal or informal experience in graphic design a plus


  • Provide positive customer service for patrons via telephone, email, and direct messaging regarding ticket purchasing, virtual viewing procedures, and donations

  • Design graphics, videos, and animations for digital media such as social media posts, email marketing, and website design (using Canva & Mailchimp)

  • Evaluate & record weekly social media and email metrics for follower engagement, ticket sales, and donations

  • Manage social media accounts by scheduling posts, responding to comments, following relevant accounts, and liking responses daily

  • Develop, deploy, and track paid social

  • Develop marketing strategies for each market segment using social media, mail, and email

  • Builds and upholds Flying Anvil’s brand and reach

  • Fosters relationships with other organizations and businesses in our community

  • Assists with our work in increasing equity of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ voices in the theatre

  • Manages ticket orders and performance data within ticketing software

  • Responsibly handles and reports cash, credit, and check sales

  • Assists in cleaning and sanitizing areas within the lobby and theatre

  • Runs Box Office and related duties for performances at the theatre or virtually

  • Other administrative duties as assigned
