6 Tips for a Successful "Zoom Performance" Viewing
Updated: Jun 6
You will not be seen in this Zoom! Don't worry, we won't tell anyone if you're not wearing pants. (Please wear pants.)
You do not need a zoom account to watch the show! Just make sure you have Zoom downloaded on the device you intend to view the show on, and you're good to go!
Make sure Zoom is downloaded on your device, and that it is updated. If you need to download zoom, click here.
If you already have Zoom on your computer, you may be able to just open it and it may prompt you to update- if that happens, just go ahead and click through to start that process.
If not, visit this page on Zoom's website, click on your operating system, and manually download the update. Your computer should go through the process of installing like a normal program. If you plan on watching from a mobile device or tablet, just make sure your app is updated.
Check your device's wifi signal. The stronger your signal, the better your experience will be. You can use this tool to check your device's internet speed.
A good rule of thumb is the closer you are to your wireless router, the stronger your signal will be. You could also forgo wifi all together and use an ethernet cable, if you're into that sort of thing.
If you're using a mobile device or tablet, make sure it's charged, or you have a charger on hand! If you're using a laptop, go ahead and plug it in before you start zooming! You won't have to worry about finding the charger during the show, or worse, having it die in the middle! This is live theatre, so there's no pausing or rewinding.
Make sure Zoom is working by clicking the link before the show. Set your viewing angle, optimize your lighting, grab your drinks and snacks before the show, and ready to watch!
All you need to do is build in a few minutes of prep time before the scheduled start time, and you'll be good to go. As we say in the theatre: "Early is on time, on time is late!"
Last but not least, please enjoy this incredibly corporate picture of a man enjoying a Zoom webinar, much like you will be doing while watching the show!
